Welcoming Spring Equinox: Hiking with Celtic Wisdom
Bradley Palmer State Park. RSVP opens mid February
An Evening with Wisdom of Mary Oliver w/ NS SING
When: February 12th 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Meeting House at First Church of Ipswich, 1 Meetinghouse Green, Ipswich, MA
Gather at the Meeting House in Ipswich and (weather permitting) walk 1/2 mile to the Ipswich Dam. We will learn about progress in dismantling the dam allowing the Ipswich River to flow free (for the first time in 350 years). We’ll hear one of Mary’s poems.
Return to the Meeting House for a delicious soup supper and conversation on the nature based wisdom of Mary Oliver.
Our conversation will be inspired by an interview between Mary Oliver and podcast host, Krista Tippett with selected reading of her poems. This interview was made in 2019 months before the poets death at age 80. A link to this interview will be sent prior to our event for participants to listen and reflect.
Who was Mary Oliver: A prolific poet, essayist and mystic. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award for poetry. Inspired by 50 years immersed in the forest, meadows and coastline of Provincetown, MA. Mary’s spirituality was rooted in radical attention to the natural world.
Limit 45 participants.
