Welcoming the Summer Solstice: With Forest Therapy

Theme: This evening hike will be a Forest Therapy experience of guided contemplative presence though forest and lakeside. The motto of Forest Therapy (sometimes known as ‘Forest Bathing’) is ‘the forest is the therapist’. We will alternate periods of quiet, attentive walking with opportunities for gentle sharing. Come with openness to silence, delight and surprise!

Where: Meet at Moraine Farm in Beverly (779 Cabot Street), a Trustee of Reservations property. Ample parking. We will hike 2.5 miles of gently rolling terrain, through mature forest and shoreline of beautiful Wenham Lake. Follow trails designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in the 19th century.

Leadership: Welcoming by Kent Harrop of NS SING. Forest Therapy program led by Mary Frohlich. Mary after teaching spirituality for many years at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, is trained as a Forest Therapy guide and a spiritual director. She is also a writer.
